All teams must register and submit a Project Proposal for shortlisting. Complete your team registration on this portal and submit all required details.

Your submission must include:
  • Problem Statement (2–3 sentences)
  • Proposed Solution & Approach
  • Technical Stack + Architecture Overview
  • Innovation & Uniqueness of your idea
  • Expected Impact & Scalability
  • Team Introduction with individual roles
Guidelines:
  • Team size: 1 to 4 members
  • Any tech stack is permitted — Web, Mobile, Low-Code
  • Your email is pre-filled from Google login
  • Shortlisting based on innovation, feasibility & clarity

Stage 2 — Jury Review & Shortlisting

The jury panel of professors will review all submitted ideas. Shortlisted teams will be notified via email and their status will update on this portal.

Shortlisting Criteria:
  • Innovation & originality of the problem being solved
  • Technical feasibility within a 20-day timeline
  • Clarity of problem statement and solution approach
  • Real-world relevance and impact potential
  • Team composition and roles defined clearly
After shortlisting:
  • Accepted teams receive a confirmation email and move to Build Phase
  • Rejected teams receive detailed jury feedback and may revise & resubmit within 24 hours

Stage 3 — Build Phase (12 Days)

Accepted teams enter 12 days of intensive development. Build a functional prototype using any technology stack. A mid-review checkpoint is held on Day 10 for progress feedback.

Mandatory Deliverables:
  • Working prototype (Web App / Mobile App / Low-Code)
  • GitHub repository with clear README and setup instructions
  • System Architecture diagram (at least 1 layer diagram)
  • Live demo URL or APK download link
  • Presentation PPT (10–15 slides, uploaded as Google Drive link)
Mid-Review (Day 10 — May 5, 2026):
  • Non-eliminatory progress check — no teams are removed at this stage
  • Jury provides feedback to help improve your final submission
  • Teams submit a 2-minute progress video or screenshots

🏆 Grand Finale & Awards
Finale

Top teams present their live working prototypes before the full jury panel. Each team gets 10 minutes to demo and 5 minutes for Q&A. Winners are announced the same day.

Judging Criteria:
  • Innovation (25%) — Originality and uniqueness of the solution
  • Technical Build (30%) — Quality of code, architecture, and implementation
  • Impact (20%) — Real-world relevance to Bihar and student life
  • Presentation (15%) — Clarity of demo and ability to answer questions
  • Scalability (10%) — Potential to grow beyond a prototype

  • Cash prizes for Top 3 teams

What is OpenTech Hackathon?

OpenTech 2026 is a 20-day build-sprint organized by Sandip University, Bihar. It's designed to encourage students to build real-world solutions for local problems using any technology stack of their choice.

Who can participate?

Participation is open to all students of Sandip University. You can participate individually or in teams of up to 4 members.

Is there any registration fee?

No, there is absolutely no registration fee. The event is fully sponsored by the Department of Computer Science to promote innovation.

What should I bring?

Since the initial phases are online, you only need a laptop and a stable internet connection. For the Grand Finale, you'll need to bring your laptop and any hardware components required for your specific prototype.

Can I participate remotely?

Yes! Stage 1 (Idea Submission) and Stage 3 (Build Phase) are entirely remote. However, the Grand Finale on May 9th is an offline event at the Sandip University Bihar campus.

What are the prizes?

The top 3 teams will receive cash prizes. Additionally, all valid submissions will receive certificates of participation, and winners may receive mentorship and incubation support for their projects.
